Welcome to Bethel Guest House
Bethel Guest House stands as a humble yet inviting haven nestled along Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete City, offering a genuine local experience for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. With a commendable 4.2 rating, it strikes a meaningful balance between affordability and accessibility, positioning itself as a favored choice for both returning guests and newcomers exploring Negros Oriental.
One of Bethel’s greatest strengths lies in its prime location. Perched just across the bustling waterfront promenade, the guest house is mere steps away from vibrant dining options, the ferry terminal, and cultural sites like the Silliman University Anthropology Museum. For visitors eager to immerse themselves in the city’s rhythm, this proximity provides an effortless gateway to Dumaguete’s coastal charm and laid-back ambiance.
The rooms at Bethel Guest House offer simple yet practical accommodations. Many guests fondly recall the ocean views from upper floors, where the calm sea contrasts with the lively boulevard below. While the furniture and overall design may not boast opulence, the cleanliness and quiet retreat from street noise make the stay comfortable and satisfying. It’s clear that Bethel prioritizes substance over showiness, delivering a space where one can rest without distraction.
What truly elevates the Bethel experience is its warm, attentive staff. Numerous visitors highlight the kindness and helpfulness of the team, notably the hotel manager and hospitality staff who go the extra mile to guide guests around Dumaguete’s hidden gems. This personalized service nurtures a welcoming atmosphere that transforms a simple stay into an engaging encounter with local culture.
While the hotel lacks certain modern luxuries—there is no pool or fitness center, for instance—amenities like free Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking, and airport shuttle enhance convenience. The on-site Café Filomena serves as a charming spot for morning meals, adding to the overall relaxed vibe of the property.
In essence, Bethel Guest House is a sincere representation of Dumaguete’s inviting spirit. It may not impress with grandeur or sleek interiors, but it wins hearts through location, genuine hospitality, and authentic local flavor. For travelers yearning to explore the baywalk, savor neighborhood eateries, and feel at home in a city steeped in history and warmth, Bethel Guest House comes strongly recommended.

Stayed a couple of times on the recommendation of my parents who preferred this hotel on their Balikbayan visits. It's not fancy and a bit run down at my last stay almost 20 years ago, but it has good security, as in measures to keep out non-guests. I've stayed on the top floor with the ocean view, which is nice, and is removed enough from the noisy street. The room furniture is not very luxurious, with plastic patio chairs, but the bathroom and bed were clean and the room was spacious. The staff is friendly and discrete. Having the small cafeteria restaurant in the lobby is convenient, with decent food choices; there's lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance if the cafeteria isn't enough. The sea wall at the boulevard is a nice place to stroll in the evening among the locals.
Hi, we spent a night here last month, unfortunately I left my AirPods in your room, is there any way I can connect to you guys and maybe ask for a favor to mail it to me? I am willing to pay for the delivery fee, Thank you so much!
My wife and I spent 5 days at the Bethel Guest House in January. The service was friendly and quite exceptional with a special mention to Francis the hotel manager and Ramil from the hospitality team (well done)! The rooms are very clean and the location is perfectly located along the waterfront promenade with easy access to restaurants and the ferry terminal. Bethel is a great value for the price! The all day dining restaurant, Filomena, was delicious with the homemade corn beef, local Dumaguete Budbud kabog and coffee our favorites. We also used the Bethel team to help organize a few trips such as Oslob for whale shark watching, Valencia local food market and Siquijor for sightseeing. These were excellent add ons to our Dumaguete trip!
I was surprised upon reaching my assigned floor seeing an information desk which resembles a nurse’s station in a hospital. It was probably the first time a saw that kind of setup in a hotel. Worse, the room smelt like a hospital room! The setup also resembles one! But don’t get me wrong, I will still recommend this place. For one, I LOVE its location - just in front of the Boulevard. My husband and I found it very convenient to go to there for a late afternoon/early morning stroll. Eventually, I just got used to the hospital-like setup. The feeling just passed and I just forgot about it. There’s limited parking in front of the hotel, but a lot of parking spaces at the back. The staff are very courteous and approachable. They have assigned staff 24/7 staying on each floor so it’s pretty convenient if you need assistance with anything. They also sell food, drinks, personal hygiene essentials, etc. per floor. They have a water fountain/dispenser which is free of charge. Just learned they increased their prices recently. My husband used to get the room priced at Php 1,500. Now it’s Php 1,800 (excluding breakfast). The hotel’s old, yes. Is it haunted? I don’t know. Will I come back? Definitely, yes.
Best hotel in Dumaguete primarily due to its location. Our room was facing the boulevard and it was very spacious, having 2 bathrooms and a sala. The staff took care of all our needs and guided us enthusiastically on which spots to visit. The restaurant at the ground floor is also a good spot for breakfast and snacks with a view. This is the only hotel you should book when you’re visiting Dumaguete!
Loved my stay here! It was everything i hoped for and more. Thanks to the wonderful and helpful staff. Will definitely be back soon. :)
The staff is just great! Always there to help and to chat, very lovely people. Location is perfect, close by everything. Nice breakfast. Rooms were ok, but I think they could be better, but very affordable hotel.
Bethel is my go-to whenever I'm in Dumaguete. The location along Rizal Boulevard is hard to beat, with the baywalk just steps away and easy access to Silliman University and the rest of the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and if you can snag one on the upper floors facing the sea, the view is absolutely worth it. The staff is genuinely warm and helpful, and Cafe Filomena downstairs serves good Filipino food at very reasonable prices. Solid value for what you pay, and I keep coming back.
